Rob Robinson, owner and primary photographer/videographer, brings over 30 years of professional experience, education and training to his photography passion and skills. After graduating with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, he worked as Studio Cameraman and News Videographer/Editor for a TV station in Virginia, then as Sports Editor/Photographer for a newspaper in Texas. His expertise has taken him on assignments to Lake Louise, Canada in the winter as well as the beaches of Cozumel in the summer. Rob has interviewed or photographed Presidents, Senators, politicians and actors, as well as soldiers on the line in Iraq. For over ten years, he worked for Ritz/Wolf Camera in sales. In addition to his work as a professional photographer, Rob continues to teach photography to law enforcement agencies, in Weatherford ISD, and individual students through private lessons, while setting aside time to attend workshops as a lifelong learner and lover of photography.
Rob and his beautiful wife, Andrea, reside in Grapevine, Texas, where she enjoys teaching very special students in GCISD. They thoroughly enjoy their children and grandchildren, and large, extended family, as well as great friends and Gateway Church.
Rob is grateful for each day, works hard, always has a smile on his face, and has never met a stranger! He constantly seeks connections with people around him as well as the "light." Rob explains that photography is "all about the light; painting with light," while also living in God's radiant light. His philosophies on life and his work can be best stated in these two quotes:
"If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it" by Margaret Fuller; and
"Whatever you do, work at it wholeheartedly as though you were doing it for the Lord and not merely for people." Colossians 3:23, ISV
Rob, the ImageMaker, specializes in studio and location portraits of children, families, adults, and groups; professional headshots of business executives; and special events such as engagements, weddings, reunions, quincenearas, parties and corporate events. Additionally, Rob offers group and private photography lessons to police departments, individuals and through continuing education courses.
Carolyn Ann Walgren is an associate and met Rob when she sought private photography lessons from him to sharpen her self-taught skills. She is passionate about photography and has spent her lifetime documenting her own childhood and that of her daughters and family. (If only the TCU School of Journalism had not intimidated her from the outset, she might have pursued this career earlier...her degree in English writing and Economics, and then a paralegal certification, didn't lead to a fulfilling career!) Her husband, Mark, and their 2 daughters, have lived in Grapevine since 1994. Carolyn Ann has actively served in many areas of her church, First Methodist of Grapevine, and the community for over 20 years, especially serving in and advocating for GCISD. Very close to her heart is a program she co-founded in 2011 to assist school staff in identifying and meeting the needs of economically-disadvantaged students. The CONNECT program works closely with campus counselors and community resource providers year-round, beginning with a huge Back-to-School Fair each August.
Carolyn Ann has dedicated her life to helping others, and she would love to help people document the ages, stages and milestones in life through beautiful and meaningful images. Whether in the studio or on location, she specializes in capturing beautiful, emotive portraits that authentically and sincerely portray the life of the subject. She loves photographing newborns, babies, children, tweens, teens, high school seniors, adults, families, sports, activities; and even causes and businesses to assist in their marketing efforts. She would love to "tell" your story!
